Today we celebrated Calvin’s 100 days with food, friends and family. In typical Korean culture, families celebrate their children’s 100 days to show the passing of a very difficult period where the mortality rate was high in olden Korean times. Good thing Calvin has been a feeding monger, growing at an extremely fast rate. If you haven’t seen him in over a month, you might not recognize him.
With friends and family gathered, we had a very relaxed afternoon grilling steak and chicken kabobs with the addition of Filipino foods. Methuse’s mom brought tons of desserts in her true fashion and we also had some Korean rice cake desserts as well. Although this didn’t go very well for those that were not Korean. LOL
Towards the late afternoon, 30 minutes before everyone started leaving, Methuse was able to put Calvin down to sleep but I hadn’t taken the opportunity to take photos of him with everybody. So I did a quick setup and got everyone ready. Calvin didn’t get much sleep and was a bit cranky but we had to wake him up for the photos. So if he looks a bit pissed, well he was. LOL
It has been a very warm start of the new year. During the past two days, it has been in the 80′s during the day. It’s kind of scary to think how hot it’s going to be in the summer. In order make use of the great weather we had, we decided to visit the local college around here, Cal Poly Pomona. Then it dawned on us, we want to take Calvin around all the major universities to get him interested really early. Not saying that this would work but it sure doesn’t hurt!
So we found a nice quaint little spot by the CLA building, we think it was an old horse stable. Found some gorgeous palm trees and took a family photo. The last image is of him by the school name. We didn’t walk all over the school to look for a large sign (there really didn’t look like there was one). We hopes to be taking him to all the big schools and hopefully to the east coast as well. New York and Boston… we shall see you soon
btw, Methuse and I are ADDICTED to this boy… seriously, his faces makes us laugh our asses off…
Today I was shooting Billy for a military photoshoot that I was hired by a client to do and in the middle of the shoot, Methuse brought Calvin down. What a perfect opportunity for a shoot! Now that I think about it, this was his first time in front of the strobes. He actually did pretty well considering the circumstances.
This is my favorite shot with Billy holding Calvin. He makes this exact face a handful of times throughout the day. I was lucky to have gotten this shot. Nothing like complete randomness for a shoot!
Calvin is not the same little boy you guys saw back in October. He is a fully functioning milk consuming chubbster!
His cheeks are getting larger and larger and if they got any larger, well then I don’t think I would be able to recognize him anymore.
Sometimes when he is peeing, his eyes get super big, I mean SUPER big! It is the funniest thing ever. You will cry cause it is so hilarious, well that is if you had the opportunity to.
Here is Calvin resting on our new bedsheets being forced to be a model.

Wow, he has truly grown! Even before my eyes, when I look back at his previous photos, I cannot believe it is the same kid. Calvin is doing well. He is eating well, sleeping well and pooping well =).
I know it has been a long time since the last post but I promise to try and get back on track but forgive me beforehand as the house is still needing a lot of attention.

For the time being, here is Calvin with his mom holding him tight. Enjoy!
So we have been keeping the pacifier from Calvin because we heard that it isn’t good for their gumline. One day, at the doctor’s office, we saw a 2 year old sucking and sucking on the pacifier. After 15 mins, it ended up falling out and then…. we saw! I am sorry to put this kid out but damn, he had the meanest overbite we have seen. Straight scared the life out of us… lol but during the early morning feedings, Calvin gets really upset if he doesnt have formula going down his throat. We would keep feeding him but we know he is tapped out cause of the spit up. So we finally gave him the pacifier but he is not a huge fan. He will use it for a few mins at a time and then pops it out but sometimes, 10 mins of silence, well that is an eternity at 3am.

Day 11, Calvin has slowed down his drinking a bit and we are back to 3oz to 3.5oz a feeding. We are still adding breastfeeding so that he keeps healthy with all the antibodies and such. He is still waking up once a night, which we still haven’t gotten used to. As long as he is full and has a clean set of pampers, he is happy but he can get cranky for no reason. I just let him claw my face cause for some strange reason, it makes him smile. lol
Methuse jumps on his diaper changes when I don’t get up as fast as I should. My mind is moving but not my body… and it hasn’t even been two weeks yet. This is not all the time of course. His face is changing everyday from what we have noticed. His nose seems to be getting bigger or maybe his face is getting smaller? He had some rashes today, not sure if it was from his clothes but we are watching it very closely. Here is Calvin and his sleepy mom.
